What this tool does

Plan an electric trip or charging session without depending on a country-specific tariff or charging-network API.

How to use it

  1. Enter distance and vehicle energy use per 100 km.
  2. Enter your electricity price, charging loss and charger power.
  3. Review battery energy, grid energy, cost and ideal time.

Formula and method

Battery energy = distance × kWh/100 km ÷ 100. Grid energy = battery energy ÷ (1 − loss rate). Cost = grid energy × entered price; ideal time = grid energy ÷ charger power.

Example

A 200 km trip at 18 kWh/100 km needs 36 kWh at the battery. With 10% loss the grid supplies 40 kWh; at 0.30 per kWh the estimate is 12.

Limits and notes

The charger may not hold its rated power, especially near a high state of charge. Idle fees, session fees, taxes, temperature, battery conditioning, route elevation and real tariff tiers are excluded.

Is charging time exact?
