What this tool does

Count both boundary dates, separate weekends, and subtract only holidays or closures that fall on Monday through Friday.

How to use it

  1. Choose the start and end dates.
  2. Enter the number of weekday holidays or closures in that period.
  3. Review calendar days, weekend days and final workdays.

Formula and method

Count every Monday through Friday from the start date through the end date. Workdays = weekdays − entered weekday holidays.

Example

September 1–30, 2026 contains 30 calendar days and 22 weekdays. With one entered weekday holiday, the result is 21 workdays.

Useful for

  • Estimating project lead time
  • Planning a weekday workload
  • Checking processing windows

Limits and notes

It does not look up national or company holidays. The weekend is fixed to Saturday and Sunday, so other workweeks need a separate schedule.

Frequently asked questions

Are both dates included?

Yes. Each boundary date counts if it is a weekday.

Should I enter a holiday that falls on Sunday?

No. Enter only holidays or closures that fall Monday through Friday.
