What this tool does

Inspect supported PDF, Office, OpenDocument, JPEG, PNG and text files locally for author, company, dates, comments, EXIF and privacy-like text.

How to use it

  1. Enter your values: Choose a file (maximum 50 MB).
  2. Inspect file locally
  3. Result: Highest detected risk, Findings, Detected file type, File size.

Inspection method

Known fields and text patterns provide screening cues. ZIP inspection stops at 1,000 entries, with selected XML limited to 1 MB per entry and 4 MB total. Results show at most 200 findings and 500 characters per value; text-pattern counts stop at 20+. Hidden, encrypted or unsupported data may be missed.

Inspection example

A UTF-8 .txt file containing only contact@sample.invalid produces one Email address finding, with one possible match and high screening risk.

Useful for

  • Checking a résumé before sharing
  • Reviewing image EXIF
  • Finding Office author fields

Limits and notes

A clean result is not proof of anonymity. Save a copy, use the source application’s document inspector, remove comments and re-check the exported file before sharing.

Frequently asked questions

Does a clean scan prove the file is anonymous?

No. The inspector reads supported metadata structures and text patterns, but encrypted, proprietary or unsupported containers can remain hidden. Use the source application inspector and re-check an exported copy before sharing.

Is the selected file uploaded?

No. The supported inspection runs in the current browser and does not send the file or findings to Easynivo.
